Best Browser Extensions to Save Money While Shopping Online. Part two

In the previous article, we discussed the top 5 browser extensions to save money while shopping online to save some dollars for charity.

You can also use this money to support your local community or your community website if you are a community manager.

Here is the second part of this review with 5 additional browser extensions to help you. We hope you will find it useful and helpful.

1. Ibotta initially was a very popular mobile app now it is also available as a browser extension.

You should create an account on their website to use it. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a money reward. This extension works more than 50 stores and, whenever make a purchase through one of these retailers, the plug-in will show a button “Get cash back.” After clicking on this button, a popup window appears, there you can see the whole volume of your purchases. The amount of cash back you get varies by the retailer to retailer. As soon as you reach at least 20$ balance in your account, you can withdraw cash via PayPal

2. Gumdrop by Goodshop was a website to support charities while you shop. But, its no longer available.

Gumdrop is similar to Tanndu website that had an option to support charities with your cashback.  It works similar to other browser extensions, but instead of giving you cash back, Gumdrop donated a good share of your spending to some non-profit that you chose.

Their free add-on works much like the same with others to find and apply coupon codes. Nevertheless, instead of giving you cashback, Gumdrop gives a share of your spending on diseased people, people who fight with pollution, etc. You can find coupons and donation deals at very famous stores.

3. The Camelizer is a browser extension from the Camelcamelcamel.com website.

People who often shop at Amazon probably know about the website Camelcamelcamel.com which tracks and compares the prices of millions of products on Amazon. This Camelcamelcamel also has a browser extension called The Camelizer that works for Chrome and other browsers. It compares the prices of millions of products on Amazon. Since prices on Amazon change rapidly, seeing a product’s price history helps you find out whether the price you see is a great deal or not. Hence, this plug-in allows you to see a product’s price history directly from Amazon.

4. PriceBlink compares prices across different sites and lets you know when there’s a better deal elsewhere.

For instance, let’s say you’re looking at a pair of shoes on Amazon. PriceBlink is able to recognize the brand and style you are looking for and find the shoes of the same design for the less price in other stores. PriceBlink also can be a good helper with finding coupon codes, it shows you a list of the best coupons available on the site you are currently browsing. If you’re not sure what product you want to buy, PriceBlink can help you there too. When you’re searching for a product on a retail site, you can click on “Ratings” and see how users have rated this product on other sites. It gives you a better overall picture of users’ opinions.

5. InvisibleHand alerts you when it finds a better deal somewhere.

The initial use of InvisibleHand is for finding the best travel deals. When you are browsing for flights, InvisibleHand lets you know if there’s a cheaper flight available. It also works in the same way with paying for hotels and cars for rent.

Other good cons about the InvisibleHand are that it finds hidden prices on retail sites. Sometimes, retailers don’t show the real price of an item until you put it in your shopping cart. But, InvisibleHand bypass this limitation and reveal to you the real final price.

To sum up

Each of these browser extensions can save you money on its own way. However, there’s no need to limit yourself to just one. Even when two different plug-ins have similar benefits – for example, finding coupon codes and cash-back offers it is a good option to have both installed. You can’t get cashback from more than one extension for the same purchase, but you can use a coupon code from one and gain your cash back.
